Alexander Nyblaeus, Chief Security Officer at Chinsay, recently attended the conference ‘Blockchain The Next Revolution’ organised by Di Konferens in Stockholm on 28 November 2017. The conference touches on how Blockchain would affect many aspects of society and business, and proposes ways in which companies can benefit from the technology or invest to handle possibilities with blockchain.
A blockchain is a decentralised and distributed digital ledger that is used to record transactions across many computers so that the record cannot be altered retroactively without the alteration of all subsequent blocks and the collusion of the network. The result is a robust workflow where participants’ uncertainty regarding data security is marginal. The use of blockchain removes the characteristic of infinite reproducibility from a digital asset. Sweden is well advanced in information technology research and digital innovation. Per Bolund, Minister of Financial Markets and Consumer Affairs, who attended the conference, confirms that Sweden is tracking the blockchain technology closely with efforts to have the technology on various registries underway.
The Blockchain technology has a large potential to transform business operating models and create new foundations for global economic and social systems. Chinsay is also engaging with service providers and research institutes such as RISE SICS to ground the benefits of enabling Blockchain on our platform.
